My friend Harri became homeless after a hospital stay caused him to lose his job in his previous city.
He has since found another job, but it requires he travel to Omaha (an hour away) for four weeks for training. Due to his lack of car and current lack of income, travel is eating up basically all of his money until his start date.
His previous city did not have any public transport, so I drove from Nebraska to Missouri to pick him up in order to relocate to my city (good public transport, bike trails, and job availability). I have been allowing him to stay with me in my small apartment, but per my lease I can only have guests for a few weeks and am now in violation of that as of yesterday. I risk getting evicted if I continue housing him, and I also really don’t handle living with other people well (I am very solitary but I wanted to help him); it exasperates existing psychological issues.
$400 is more than enough to find a suitable room for him to rent (first months rent + utilities). After this he should be capable of sustaining himself.
